Hi, I'm having troubles getting my ezcap280 working, it records no worries but the hdmi output drops out quite often, on both xbox one and 360. It is also is not recording my mic and I was running the stream output from an astro mix am
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the Hdmi contacts are not compatible enough = the connectors doesn't fit properly with each otheres. Check once more that the contacts between the output connector and Hdmi cable and TV - test them also without the ezCAP280 by hooking that same Hdmi cable directly into the connector of TV.
ReplyDeleteMic input works only with a component cable as I have said on my selling page in the Specifications:
"- Audio Input: Digital / HDMI, Analog / RCA Audio L/R, 3.5mm Line In, 3.5mm Microphone In (Supported only with component video - doesn't work when using Hdmi)". So if You want to use Hdmi and record Your commentaries, so I recommend You to record audio file with Your computer while playing and then unit video file and audio file with the ArcSoft Showbiz v3.15, which comes with this product.
Thanks for the audio tips. The hdmi only drops out when recording though, so I'm pretty sure it's not a cable problem.
ReplyDeleteThen it can due to Your USB stick or USB drive if it is too slow or fragmated - can You test it with some other USB storage media?
ReplyDeleteI did think of that I tried it with a hdd and a USB stick both USB 2.0 the hdd is fairly old though. I'll give it a go, I'll try at 720p and see if that makes a difference too. Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteWould the USB problem cause the hdmi output to stop, but not stop recording. Because the recording looks fine it just drops out the display.
ReplyDeleteIf the recorded video is fine, but it drops out the display, so I bet it due to contact issue - check all contacts (output of ezCAP280 and input of Your TV) and test also with some other Hdmi cable if possible.
DeleteI tried that, the cables are fine. It only cuts out when recording.
ReplyDeleteI asked help from the manufacturer, but they just asked You to take contact directly to their support team by email: product@szforwardvideo.com
ReplyDeleteOh ok, I did last night and haven't had a reply.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your time.
They will answer ASAP, but I think they are very busy on Mondays.
ReplyDeleteI've looked into the problem further. It records fine, but when recording the hdmi output drops in and out frequently, when I stop recording the output becomes stable. If I drop the resolution to 720p it records and displays fine.
ReplyDeleteIt's cool they've replied. It's a hardware fault. Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. Do they have any solution for that issue?
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for the seller on eBay to get back to me. Szforwardvideo say it needs to be returned and I should get a new one. I've already binned the packaging, and the power supply because it's cheap and nasty and doesn't meet Australian standards (I'm an electrician). I wasn't expecting it to be a dud. So I'm not sure how it's going to go unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteGood. Oh - You didn't get AU standard power supply from that seller... I am selling this product on my online store and also on Ebay with all 4 common standard (AU, EU, US and UK). The manufacturer offers this product only with US and EU standard power supplies, but I have lot of customers from UK and AU and I want to give them the best quality services even if I must pay a little bit extra about these power supplies. Here is that EzCAP280 on my Ebay Store:

It did come with the AU adaptor, but the quality wasn't very good, I just bought an ipad charger which is rated appropriately.
ReplyDeleteOk. I have bought those power supplies from the converter box manufacturer, Lengkeng company and the quality of them has been even higher than those US and EU power supplies of ForwardVideo company. There is many power supply manufacturers in China which makes crappy products.
